Linda & Larry originally constructed a weekend cabin on the property in 1981. That cabin has grown to become their full-time residence with a large lounging area....the Lodge Commons Room. Over the years three vacation cabins were added and now your hosts get to share their piece of Alaskan paradise.

What is Gigglewood?

"Gigglewood" are tree limbs, which have been injured and deformed during early growth years. Each piece of Gigglewood has been gathered and artfully given a special place in this unique display of natural architecture. Twists of "Gigglewood" gracefully support handrails and roof fascia. 

The cabins overlook a wide, shallow lake with waterfowl and a beaver pond. We went out in the paddleboat, and they also have mountain bikes for you to use.  The location of Gigglewood makes a great home base for fishing in the area. We used it as a place to just relax for a day; it was a midway point between the interior and coastal legs of our Alaska vacation. It was a great move on our part, because it was the perfect place to just sit and enjoy the peace and the scenery. I'd specifically recommend this either for people who want to fish in the area, or for people like us who are looking for an idyllic place to rest.
